Chef Jared Simonds-Sunday Dinner at Lexington Social House

Who is now the happiest girl around? Me! I was so heart-broken when Violet closed. So, I was delighted to find out that Chef Simons was the new EC at Lexington Social House. It was on my maybe list for some time now. However, it went from maybe to NOW. When I found out Chef Jerod Simons was the new EC, I made it happen. My dining partner and I had an early Sunday dinner. We started with a lovely asparagus salad with a poached egg. The asparagus was nice and crisp and the egg was cooked perfectly. Is there anything better than a runny egg? I mean, seriously, is there? It was also a very delicious Tabasco aioli. The entree was a lamb bolognese. While, I didn't envision ground lamb, I have no complaints. It was very flavorful and it was served over grits. I thought that was a nice and unexpected touch. Finally, we finished with a super moist pineapple upside down cake. I literally squealed when I saw it. I vividly remember the amazing ginger panna cotta with caramelized pineapple I had at Violet. It was moist and delicious and had that wonderful pineapple I remembered. The restaurant is beautiful and Chef Jared is amazing. I will definitely return.
